Pianist and teacher Miji Kim has received her B.M., M.M., D.M.A. in piano performance at USC (University of Southern California) and has performed in countries throughout the US, as well as in Australia, and Thailand. She specializes in classical music, but is not limited to contemporary and jazz music, including electronic music, recording and techniques.
As a chamber musician, she has performed in various music ensembles such as her appearance as a guest artist for World Vision Concert in 2005, and various classical and jazz ensembles at the University of Southern California.
Miji also focuses on composing, arranging and recording. She has scored a short film, “Returning” (2009) as featured in IMDb, and performed works involving electronics alone and electronics with acoustic instruments. She is dedicated to exploring music creatively through usage of art, film, instruments, and technology.
Miji is an active member of MTAC (Music Teacher’s Association of California), SYMF (Southern Youth Music Festival), College Music Society, and serves as the co-chair of MTNA’s (Music Teacher’s National Association) Honors Festival.
